Catch and Cook at Kilkeel Harbour

Seafood doesn’t get fresher than this! Northern Ireland has a proud maritime heritage and Kilkeel, just a short drive along the coast from Warrenpoint, is home to the largest fishing fleet and working harbours in the country.

On this half day tour, you get to learn all about the traditions, history and importance of the industry to the local area at Kilkeel’s Nautilus Centre, before trying your hand at bagging some of the local coalfish or mackerel with a spot of fly-casting from the harbour.  If you are doing more casting than catching, a quick visit to the local fishmonger offers the next best thing.

Back at the Nautilus Centre, the experts at the Mourne Seafood Cookery School will teach you the best way to handle, fillet and cock your fresh catch, before serving it up for a mouth-watering lunch.
